False Belief

I had the world on a piece of string
Spun it out and it pointed out to sea
The more I look the less I find
The more I turn I’m left behind
You had nothing and kept it for yourself
Thought that empty meant freedom from yourself
You can't see past your nose it blurs your vision
Focus on something close it’s your decision

We all had wasted opportunities
We missed the boat couldn't make the ferry
And our dreams of rich prosperity
Vanished we're all addicts to false belief

And it seems the more I close my eyes
Brings some guidance a big surprise
You saved your country and they kicked you in the balls
I left my land for rich reward
You had the answers but couldn't question it
I had the questions doesn’t make it easy
You had the china and threw it to the floor
I picked it up couldn't put it together

We all had wasted opportunities
We missed the boat couldn't make the ferry
And our dreams of rich prosperity
Vanished we're all addicts to false belief
