Jailor Man 02:21
Jailer Man Here's a story of a man who had a little little mouse And lived in the little mouse’s house And after a short time while forsaking a smile The sleepy little mouse woke up Then over the hill came a man called Bill With some questions and answers and baggage Hey man what's your style your fabulous beguile You're dining here like at the Ritz He was a jailer man he had her time on his hands Life of a can free sailor man I'm here ever ever after and mum makes my afters And I'm fixing the things in her head Oh that's very very fine such a gentleman in time Here's a cake have it and eat it And the little bird who does conceptual turds Ate the crumbs and flew away So the poor little little mouse who couldn’t leave the house Made her bed and laid in it He was a jailer man He had her time on his hands Life of a can free sailor man He was a jailer man He had her time on his hands Patrick Ferreira-clarinet David.J.Hull-guitar/vocal/noises João Clemente-bass/guitars/sounds/drums/production David john Hull ©

The Man In The Garage Song I don't know why I really love you but I care I care The never ending little morning anticipation Rolls out to this planet that is seemingly blue The endless cars that have the right to run him down Whose dangled foot was left aloud in the aimless crowd Feasted on a plate all served up it's not too late I'm a party to your picture of a dripping succulent I don't know why I really love you I don't know why I really care I really care I really care Rushing to the queue for an angry little lewd And we join in till we can't Fitting well in good times Remembering the life that’s passing by I earned it soft I did a lot in the garage with the man that's always there João Clemente-bass/guitars/sounds/producer David.J.Hull-guitar/voice David john Hull ©

Rivers End 05:23
River’s End Born to the ramblings of the lot That leaves a vacant roll over Revelations all dressed up to make a dream obsessions What with the cravings of the youth and its cupid scenario Out we go into the to night, Reaching for the great sensation Try or sigh We should have it more a better bit And run around the town feeling it Find a space and sneak a better view Now we're talking fun it's up to you Take you down the dark alleyways Brooding time in biding shadow play Tasting scent of wanton masquerade And find the kick inside and misbehave Could have been so wild from the start Instead all that commotion Using up the simple cold grey past All that coloured euphoria Out we go into the to night, Reaching for the great sensation So try or sigh We should have it more a better bit And run around the town feeling it Find the space and sneak a better view Now we're talking fun it's up to you You can have a try it all a little sip Let the hounds run free and rip it up Kindle fires of deep sensory Feel the sense of real ecstasy Take you down the dark alleyways Brooding time in biding shadow play Taste the scent of wanton masquerade And find the kick inside and misbehave You can have a try it all a little sip Let the hounds run free and rip it up Kindle fires of deep sensory And Feel the sense of real ecstasy You can have a try it all a little sip Let the hounds run free and rip it up Kindle fires of deep sensory Feel the sense of real ecstasy Take you down the dark alleyways Brooding time in biding shadow play Taste the scent of wanton masquerade And find the kick inside and misbehave David john Hull ©

Embarrassment In my life I seem to wonder all the time Who I should be my oh my I don't wanna die I met a man Who seems to know about do and all So definite by my side He really doesn't need to hide Take me away I'll join the show Before life eats me up And spits out the indifference The future is mine I don't know I should try to like it The prince on guitar he plays the blues so randomly Gets the pat cause he's so he It's really plain to see. It's all relative and words jump out just like mad hatters Stumble in frivolity It really doesn't matter Save me from my embarrassment I'll come out today for no special reason The future is mine I don't know I should try to like it Take me away I'll join the show Before life eats me up And spits out the indifference Tuning: GADEBE Chords:Bm/D7/C/D7 C#/C/D7/C

Habit 02:39
Habit I'm in the habit of feeling quite straight Haven’t got the rabbit to blow you away 'Cause everything we have to do is strained I'm in the habit of being numb I've got the talent of acting it up 'Cause everything we have to do is fake 'Cause I disagree with you completely Everything seems so clean and the look is worn so well Bathing in addictions to make it all sell Sniff it up and wash it down and take it to the cleaners Give ‘em half a chance they say it's all been rendered And the bloody job you do is an underpaid escape It took 6 years off your life that ain’t no fake So everything to have seems like a real small wonder Bigging up yourself taking others’ thunder And it's like the days at school in the stuffy corridors Feeling quite guilty waiting to see the law We know he just won't get it ‘cause we broke some old rules The rules interpreted of by an old war horse I'm in the habit of being numb I've got the talent of acting it up 'Cause everything we have to do is strained David john Hull ©

Corporate Identity I would chance upon a peer from this way sideways on Walking round new buildings that are causing wind tunnels Oh the big hotels stand tall a fabulous and grand Sitting on the likes of you a symbol to this land All new people walk along the path down-trodden high Fall in line and serve it well the genie in the sky We're in love with with the honey pot girl come on let’s dine Fall in line with you brave new world all the time it's so fine You are linked in tracked and needing riveting exchanges Dressed to fit the image of a same old differentness See the boiler men that take a break by big back doors Looking on with tired eyes to those that have some more 'Ave a chomp on status with some branding necessary Sign today on dotted lines for corporate identity We're in love with with the honey pot girl come on let’s dine Fall in line with you brave new world all the time it's so fine David John Hull ©

Hope 03:13
Hope Hope Dave's got rope If he had a chance he'd cope He'd be on his way Every single day He's complicit of the visit of the life that he wants to say He's complicit of the visit of the life that he has to say He wants it today Doesn't he Yes Dave's got rope If he got a chance he goes He'd be on his way Every single day He's complicit bout the visit of the “gizet” of the life he plays He's complicit on the visit of the visit of the life he plays He wants it to stay Wants it to stay Dave's got rope If he had a chance he'd cope He'd be on his way Every single day He's complicit of the visit of the life that he wants to say He's complicit of the visit of the life that he has to say David hull©

He Kicked Is Eels He was forced to humbleness He got the badge upon his breast While taking in the shots from near and far And optimal was onwards march To a willing place to embark To reach the safety of a wide expanse Just because he had a name He didn't feel like a number Most of the time And deary feelings came his way Not looking for a deeper answer Most of the time He'd say he's fine Having kicked his heels a bit He sacrificed his self to it Then trundled back to paint a sea scape He dreamt of kids oh what joy A simple life to explore A millionaire was too provocative All is fair in his eyes I wish him well that's no surprise I'll see you later for the matinee Just because he had a name He didn't feel like a number Most of the time And deary feelings came his way Not looking for a deeper answer Most of the time He'd say he's fine Most of the time He'd say he's fine Most of the time He'd say he's fine He'd say he's fine Most of the time He'd say he's fine David John Hull ©

Richard 04:48
Richard He's at the window Close to the wire And up on his haunches And out of the favour He's living insistence Breathing in silence Waves sometimes frightened Then balls like a lion Feeling the high path That turns to defy him He's out of his measure On the side of a mountain Richard Locked out Not now Made him Out of his mind again He's lost for words That he doesn't really have to say Richard locked out Not now Made him Out of his mind again He's lost for words That he doesn't really have to say Cars in a small room Made him so happy Like the wires he connected To some old battery Waits for his woman Who's jolly and pure like Who knits for the someone Who's tacky in squared stripes The table of the cycle Of the dose of those pills Blazing confusion Make him feel real Richard Locked out Not now Made him Out of his mind again He's lost for words That he doesn't really have to say David John Hull©

Let's Call It Fair Fair I'll call that fair Waking in the sun with my Monday hair I know it's hard to bare my morning stare And that I always missed a trick Call me a prick That's fair you got your share All the things you wanted all the things so flaunt it So time I got real loads it's fine To work out who I am Is that such a crime Some of us climb mountains that are very very tall Or build a family home with dedication to the goal Or sit and sort numbers in a city nine to five So many options come on let's do it That's fair you drop in I dropped out It's only definition it's all in the clouds Anyway who cares it's all in the game And I'll move to Spain With my new washed hair Some of us are leaders with emphatic points of view Or do it self-employed only themselves to answer to Even artists guest appear they make the world more colourful So many options you can have your riches you're probably jealous so let's call it fair David John Hull©

David John Hull: “Call it Fair” (author edition)

Rui Eduardo Paes

Three of the members of Slow is Possible, a group that will perform next Thursday, August 2nd, at the John Zorn Special Edition of Jazz in August (namely: João Clemente, André Pontífice and Bruno Figueira, to which will be added a his former participant, Patrick Ferreira), are involved in the new DIY album by singer, bassist and guitarist David John Hull, a London musician residing in Berlin where Clemente and Pontiff live. Clemente is the producer (guitarist and cellist, André Pontífice, also belong to Hull 's band, Golden Dark), and his personal brand explains the fact that “Call it Fair” moves away from the territories where we normally find the voice psychedelic folk (Wire would call it “weird folk”) that stars in the album.

That remains the starting point, but here we come across aspects of a certain alternative pop-rock, both historical (vocal uses and ambiences echo aspects of Robert Wyatt's songs, Syd's David Bowie songs, Barrett or Bob Drake) as the one who called himself post-rock, evoking figures and bands from the Chicago scene like Jim O'Rourke, Sam Prekop, Gastr del Sol and The Sea and Cake. Which means that the song format is stretched, when not even folded, in order to fit elements from jazz, contemporary music and improvised experimentalism, just like the rest of Slow is Possible. It is as if we heard these in a different light, and with the same level - high - of quality ... A lot of these young musicians from Beira Interior have to get out of their hats, now associating themselves with people from other places with the same inquisitive spirit.
