The Glory Of The State Wait stay people Door Jamming people Who wait around In hopefulness like the way they dress Got their tickets A numbered fate Wait And Poster people upon the wall Who look like us With smiling faces That motivate To get a job It's about their number More than their face We went up in the world today Helped by sleight of hand But did the world Just go up on us Behind our backs We'll never know The call of the nation has exploitation In hit and run There was never a contract Just a clever mind shame Hidden in the act With tiny steps You can dance around In the crowd But keep your coat 'Cause the music just Played out And there's no space Please move on To raise a glass to the giving ones Who work all hours For a petty sum For charity Is to miss the point It's just for the glory of the state It's for the glory of the state The call of the nation has exploitation In hit and run There was never a contract Just a clever mind shame Hidden in the act

Appropriation game Oh Winnie oh Winnie It’s good that you’re there I’ll cut to the chase for you There’s a property we know of That’s come to our attention We’d like to make an offer for it It’s up on Aliende hill Not far from the centre Do you know the one I mean? Oh the house up the hill We don’t know who owns it Or if there’a ‘community of heirs’ out there We, are inclined to think Like good capitalists Maximum gain Appropriation game Oh that's a mere formality It's pussy footing banality We're talking about High investment here But there's been a request From a local investor That ticks all the boxes I’ve heard all this before Can't we lobby The council ? After all you got a seat on it The councils pollitics are clear Lobbying wont help Only for social housing and free public transport We, are inclined to think Like good capitalists Maximum gain Appropriation game And the squater ones Are idle bums Stop funding and they'll go away Isn't asbestos banned, or wasn’t mold not found The foundations could be too weak What about, roughing them up with a hit squad well tough Fixing the things in their head We, are inclined to think Like good capitalists Maximum gain Appropriation game

Way Down South My old Dad was the run-of-the-mill Growing up on the top-of-the-hill In his little town That's all he knew then He lied awake a navigating Plotting stars out, to take him Way down south Way down Then my old dad who was lost got found So he picked up anchor, ocean bound Way down south Way down There comes a time When you need to define What is buried deep inside And what you think about Is really……….. Being Yourself He saw the world and told me stories But edited bits that were too sordid Way down south Way down there You got one chance, so you might as well take it So go down south, before you can't make it Way down south Won't you go down There comes a time When you need to define What is buried in your head And what you think about Is really………... Doing your best There comes a time When you need to define What is buried deep inside And what you think about Is really………... Being yourself.

Revolutionary Weirdos Many years ago This was our refuge We lived in untried ways We challenged and refused Pushing barriers And raised the bar We were thinkers and dreamers Revolutionary wierdos Then came the mistrust Born from fascist propaganda And so much turmoil from their ideology We did our best To hold on to sanityBut the pressure was to much The death of our Community Then they took my people Vanished all away Never to return To share the light of a day They would be happy if They knew about your people And life always grows back As they smile up Through the cracks

THE PIGEON HOUSE (Act 3 of 3 Act)
(On Allende Hill)

Radio Play (To be released this year sometime)
Written by David John Hull
Edited and artistic imput by Giles Schumm

All songs written and aranged by David John Hull

Artistic input: Reece Marlowe.
Mixed by João Clemente and David John Hull
Some dialogue recorded by Peter Hofmann and artistic imput

There are approximately 40 songs with accompanying dialogue. "More than a Wreck" serves as the main theme music. Most of these songs are featured in the radio play, but shortened at times.

The audio play follows the life of a young man, Damien Spirit, known as Dey. It delves into his troubled relationship with his father, who left home when he was young, his attempt to assimilate into the corporate world, his journey through transitioning to a transgender woman, his experiences on the road working in a bordello, and ultimately finding himself in a squat. The narrative then follows Damien's father's attempt to exploit his son and the squatters under the oppressive weight of a corrupt system. The play delves into themes such as the corporate world, gender, sex work, corruption, and gentrification.
The interspersed songs also contribute to the storytelling. Ranging in style from experimental music, pop, chanson, contemporary classical music, to folk.

The radio play does not confine itself to any specific country, utilizing generic descriptions like 'center of town' or 'in the south.' Similarly, the characters' nationalities remain intentionally ambiguous, inviting diverse interpretations.

Special thanks to Jeff Talton, who lent me his drums, bass, and banjo. Peter Hofmann, who provided a banjo, excellent microphone, and headphones. Thanks to Aidan Bartley and Fanto Thomas.

The speakers for the Radio Play: Jane Luca, Kaia Pierce-Grove, Felipe Valdez, Maria Schlangen, Rick Melling, Bernardo Sousa, Sofia Byström-Borg, David John Hull.
