Heavenly Creature Oh, that's so sweet You should say that To tell you the truth No one says that They just want to blabber And get off with me So I'll accept that A compliment it will be Tell you the truth When I first saw you there I lost count And couldn't sing in tune You didn't seem like the rest Was I mesmerised? Just look at my eyes You heavenly creature Just flown in from Mars
3.
Hapless Foraging I'm connected, but how do I justify my belonging When I always veer and question the endless growth That will lead me to reject Growth in your way, not for my sake, but for your sake If only to avoid mass panic in the streets Panic in the streets So I’ll join in, till we can't then reveal In nostalgia How we fitted in so well And all the good times we had doing it Even if I fooled myself And awareness that shone a brief light on it And struggled through So we join in again And bury the nagging voice That did say how to be So I’ll elbow For my way Not for your way Burning all inside Hapless foraging Hapless foraging
4.
Let’s Take a Gamble Let’s take a gamble On all that we can handle So we’ll go fool the doctor Faking discomfiture He'll write us off as sicky That’s how we’ll take the mickey So we can take a gamble On all that we can handle Let's leave before we think too much Leave before we have to explain Let's go and do indulgence We’ve come from home, we’re playing away Who made those rules? They’re for nerds anyway And I don't care, 'cause I can't swim And I can’t hold a job down And I don't want to join in At least not yet Maybe never Depends on the weather And if the birds of a feather Make me feel better I’ll jump at the chance Then count me in Let’s take a gamble Go and room and ramble If you toe my party line We’ll have a free crash time I’ll hang out all forlorn Checking out the fishermen Then it’s easy to get hooked up But it’s a careful play on when’s enough And I don't care, 'cause I can't swim And I can’t hold a job down And I don't want to join in At least not yet Maybe never Depends on the weather And if the birds of a feather Make me feel better I’d jump at the chance Then count me in
5.
Definitely Idle I'm definitely Definitely idle So definitely Definitely idle You see me down in the street Yes, Sitting staring at my feet I've got really nothing to do Nothing that would interest you How do you know that? Well I just assumed that I'm definitely Definitely idle So definitely Definitely idle I'm definitely Definitely idle So definitely Definitely idle I sit and think with no phone And no dog I'm alone People look at me strange Like a wierdo or insane? I love-to sacrifice the day And throw it, all away No work, fuck pay Don't matter Life’s-a holiday ‘Cause I fashioned that I'm my own way I*m definitely Definitely idle So definitely Definitely idle

Shelf Life 03:25
Shelf Life Winter came As snow did fall Upon the walls of the factory It's 11 o'clock And we all piled in Like bees to the honey pot Working those night shifts Chattering away Multi-tasking In high spirits While our little ones Were alone at night No time for stories Fantasies But our shelf life Was up real soon We were out of date Pensioned off To be tuned out Became invisible Happy families Doing our best To invest In our own kind What the swinging times? No, our kind were up our tree Theirs were out of bounds But our shelf life Was up real soon We were out of date Pensioned off To be tuned out Became invisible Turning up for tuning out Made us turned off But our shelf life Was up real soon We were out of date Somehow happy Happy families Itta Nakamure:drums

They Go away 02:42
They Go Away He spoke with a delightful manner ‘Cause he was so educated and what a good catch So full of himself, but you saw it too late Then they go away, they go away, they go away Captured by the men who search for glory Who stick it in, as if it’s a game Men like him are all the same And they go away He said let’s go to a far away place, like Mexico Where it’s warm, where we can grow Then you said yes and he said no And they go away, they go away, they go away When he ran his hands through your auburn hair He couldn't feel your struggle or your strength Couldn’t feel your struggle or strength And they go away They go away
8.
Boy From Mars/I Wasn't Made Like Everyone I wasn't made like everyone You didn't know about that You said like I was born on Mars And flew in, in a tin can And every time that I did question you would just Tut and shake your heads You never wanted to talk about The what and why And where and how to fair So I stole the books and read the stories Late at night Faking sleep in my bed All was denied Never got his time He went a crashing Every time Self-reflection Was a crime All was denied Never got his time He went a crashing Every time All was denied Never got his time I wasn't made like everyone You didn't know about that You said like I was born on Mars And flew in, in a tin can Then he dreamt of a roller coaster Starry-eyed With magic in his head Not a thought of getting older All of that Was nonsense: made no sense All was denied Never got his time He went a crashing Every time Self-reflection Was a crime All was denied Never got his time He went a crashing Every time All was denied Never got his time
9.
Half of himself he does obscure Half of himself, he does do obscure That's what he learned, in the court-yard From boy to a man juxtaposed Fate on his side, he does confide He knows so therefore it's plain to see They make the cake then he will eat it Wasn't born to serve, but to be a leader At the top his country needs him The airs he gives off, all do believe him And in the great halls his bust you will see With kindly banter, he loosens them up They lower their guard then he does my stuff It's what you call, the rule of the jungle
10.
Go Get The Bacon I'm Going to get you On the gold trail Go get your bacon Oh you can't fail We'll keep you busy From 9 to 5 Just pushing the numbers You're sure to arrive Look here I'll tell you There's no strings attached When you're making a packet There' no looking back Oh, know we wont
11.
Corporate Identity I would chance upon a peer from this way sideways on Walking round new districts, that are clean and neat and new The office buildings stand so tall, fabulous an grand Thank god for the likes of us, that cleared the homeless out All new people walk along, busy well turned out Fall in line and serve it well the free market machine We're in love with with the money pot girl come on let’s dine Fall in line with you brave new world all the time it's so fine We are linked in tracked and needing riveting exchanges Dressed to fit the image of the same old differentness See the boiler men that take a break by big black doors Looking on with tired eyes to those that have some more Have a chomp on status with some branding necessary Sign today on dotted lines for corporate identity We're in love with with the money pot girl come on let’s dine Fall in line with you brave new world all the time it's so fine
12.
Idiot Men 01:49
Idiot Men Well I'm working to pay my way Will I make here, who can say? Maybe I fit in after all? And maybe I'm normal after all? In this office block, I toe the line Looking out the window, I spend my time God she's always going on, the silly cow It’s Only been one month and want out Talking about feeling like a machine Well It's clear I'm not fitting in! Motivated status driven Exploiting the gaps in the system Busy with schemes too succeed in Filling time with achieving Phony joking not funny Stupefied by the money
13.
More Than A Wreck More than a wreck More than a stage To base a life on It could be said It is more Than the sum Of the parts I want to be free To discover me And chance upon a whole load of odyssey’s Wanna make it up As I go along Right or wrong Now I can breathe Now I can dream And leave through the open door I wanna have the greatest time of my life I can possible have More Than a wreck More than a stage to base a life on It could be said It is more than the sum of the parts
14.
Clod 03:36
Clod Really stupid for a man of your age Acting like some sad used shabby doll Such a shabby doll You and your issues Drove a wedge between us Growing old like some rotting mold Like some rotting mold Always searching for some beauty, you clod Please go take a trip and see the pyramids See the pyramids And all your complaints That you were ignored You’re not so special Get a job You living life on the fly Made me cry Fucking in the same room as I slept Wasn’t heaven I guess we’re just too different, in the end Let’s say bon voyage Bon voyage Naked swimming in fountains, while all stared Bunking taxis, dining out on the fair Lying to strangers, for weird kicks Chewing the fat till dawn Let’s meet up some day again
15.
Lover Boy 04:34
Lover boy Lover boy with my mesmerising looks Need only one line and hook to sink in Take my pills then I radiate in style It always suited me to Be out late there And all the time I go around With my feet up off the ground I walk around feeling blessed It was never better I always remembered There was never an end Lover boy with my separated gaze It turns them on And I know how to get them Fill my shelves with Sartre and Camus I always saw myself as an Existentialist And there's no time to feel ashamed Or to give it back and pay How can they ever resist 'Cause I know them better Then they could ever They’ll will never forget my name And all the time I go around With my feet up off the ground Yes I walk around feeling blessed I never feel better When I remember I am truly the best And all the time I go around With my feet up off the ground I walk around feeling blessed It was never better when I remember I am truely the best
16.
Every Day People Hanging out as time stands still We watch the morning rush It’s Bread and circus’s On the run The strong smell of fumes, clog the air And mist up the road It hides the stench of stale alcohol While every day people are in twilight zones We’ve metaphorically pissed on their grave stones They go sleeping While we are swinging The night away, hey, hey They can do their matching While we do our clashing All the way What you say? I’ll call that sponging Fuck you! Not everyone’s the same Chiseled out faces Gaunt and faded Wearing our look – emaciated Coffee and cigarettes feed our souls The participation call That we do all hate We’ll lock behind a big metal gate While every day people who work for the man Tied to his whims bound to his hands They go sleeping While we are swinging the night away Hey, hey They go playing the game While we do our best Not To partake While they are sleeping We are swinging the night away What do you say? I’ll call that sponging Fuck you! Not everyone’s the same
17.
The King of Nowhere The king of nowhere I'm the high ambassador of losers That went for a walk No turning back Just a life on the road Once I had a dream To make it big and rich With status supreme But I couldn't swallow All that toxicity But you should've buckled down When you fitted in And you didn't own up Why? 'Cause I couldn’t And I wouldn't It's easy when you do things, like everybody else in the world does But my conscience would’nt have it, it put it all out on the shelf love And all us men Are born as beautiful things Full of joy Who knows why The love for ourselves runs out Money breeds status That makes you think that you're famous King of it all But your the king Of nowhere after all But you should've buckled down When you fitted in And you didn't own up Why? Cause I couldn’t And I wouldn't It's easy when you do things, like everybody else in the world does But my conscience would’nt have it, it put it all out on the shelf love

Mr Nightingale's Song There’s a thousand ways to steal away and a million lives built in Staring in the city floating on the shades of grey I can smell you on my clothes and feel you looking here On the other side of the street you got on my head We Saw you wandering Mr Nightingale Trying hard to tell your tales Singing songs, at the bar That no one knows any more We Saw you wandering Mr Nightingale Trying hard to tell your tales Dressed up in throw-outs Of another time And a guitar slung round your neck And secretly the punters took snap-shots Posting up instantly Then you stopped to play Just like that Leaving with an empty hat We saw them snicker All ironically Whistling to your song You left your bouquet Of a musty stench A sort of ironic pay back We Saw you wandering Mr Nightingale Into the night alone Soul searching Mr Nightingale Being left out in the cold

THE PIGEON HOUSE (Act 1 of 3 Acts)
(On Allende Hill)

Radio Play (To be released sometime this year)
Written by David John Hull
Edited by Giles Schumm

All songs written and aranged by David John Hull

Artistic input: Reece Marlowe/peter Hofmann
Mixed by João Clemente and David John Hull
Some dialogue recorded by Peter Hofmann

There are approximately 40 songs with accompanying dialogue. "More than a Wreck" serves as the main theme music. Most of these songs are featured in the radio play, possibly shortened at times.

The audio play follows the life of a young man, Damien Spirit, known as Dey. It delves into his troubled relationship with his father, who left home when he was young, his attempt to assimilate into the corporate world, his journey through transitioning to a transgender woman, his experiences on the road working in a bordello, and ultimately finding himself in a squat. The narrative then follows Damien's father's attempt to exploit his son and the squatters under the oppressive weight of a corrupt system. The play delves into themes such as the corporate world, gender, sex work, corruption, and gentrification.
The interspersed songs also contribute to the storytelling. Ranging in style from experimental music, pop, chanson, contemporary classical music, to folk.

The radio play does not confine itself to any specific country, utilizing generic descriptions like 'center of town' or 'in the south.' Similarly, the characters' nationalities remain intentionally ambiguous, inviting diverse interpretations.

Special thanks to Jeff Talton, who lent me his drums, bass, and banjo. Peter Hofmann, who provided a banjo, excellent microphone, and headphones. Thanks to Aidan Bartley and Fanto Thomas.

The speakers for the Radio Play: Jane Luca, Kaia Pierce-Grove, Felipe Valdez, Maria Schlangen, Rick Melling, Bernardo Sousa, Sofia Byström-Borg, David John Hull.
